Rocking the Classic

This blog is not related to Design its related to Classical and Rock Music, Comparing the two kinds of Music ... I named it Rocking the Classic

One of the important differences between rock music and classical music is the musical instruments that musicians use and play. Those musical instruments create different feelings and emotions by producing different types of musical sounds such as loud and calm.  In rock music the main instruments that musicians usually use is electric guitar and drums. Those musical instruments have a loud sound which gives the fans the energy to sing and dance; in addition the number of musical instruments in rock music is smaller than the number of musical instruments in classical music. On the contrary, in classical music there are several musical instruments that are used by musicians like piano, wind instruments, percussion, and string instruments. All of these instruments have a variety of sounds such as loud, calm, and soft sounds. This gives the classical songs a special harmony and advantage such as being easier to listen for peaceful sounds unlike rock music instruments which produce energetic, fast, loud sounds.

Another difference is the average age of the fans and audience for each type. The average age of fans for rock music is somewhat young and usually the people who listen to rock music are teenagers. For example most people who listen to One Direction or Red Hot Chili Peppers are teenagers because they love the themes, the rhythm, and the energy that is produced by rock music. However, elderly people listen to classical music such as the people who listen to Luciano Pavarotti or Andrea Bocelli. Usually the main reason for elderly people liking classical music is that sometimes it has tunes without a singer’s voice or words, and most of the time classical music is considered calm and soft. But it could also have loud tunes in the melodies. The fans of classical music prefer to listen to different classical melodies.

The last difference between rock music and classical music is the number of members and musicians who play and sing in the band. In rock music the band contains two to ten members. Furthermore, anyone of the band members can sing, and the members wear informal clothes such as jeans, t-shirts, and boots. Usually they perform their songs and do their concerts on any outdoor stages. On the other hand classical music can contain a huge number of singers and musicians. Sometimes it can contain more than one hundred musicians in an orchestra, and the orchestra contains a main singer, and musicians. In addition there is a leader who controls the orchestra, and usually the musicians wear formal clothes when they perform on the stage such as suits, tuxedos, and dresses. Usually they perform most of their songs and do their concerts in places such as universities auditoriums, opera houses around the world.

People have different musical tastes, and nowadays people can listen to music everywhere on television, radio, movies, plays, Internet, advertisements, documentaries, and sports; in addition it reflects people’s culture, musical taste, feelings, and their own personal stories. People play at birthdays, parties, and weddings. Although music has different types, it is very important to everyone’s life. Both rock music and classical music are famous and popular types of arts; however, they have many differences such as the main musical instruments and the number of musical instruments, the average age of the fans who listen to the music, and the number of singers and musicians for each type. Each and every person has the choice to listen and choose their favorite type of music. Well, who is better? The fans around the world will have to decide.
